I think it is fair to ask ourselves how we expect girls to not fall into that trap when we constantly praise them for their physical appearance. How can we expect them to believe us when we say that "what really matters is what's on the inside" when they are bombarded by unrealistic beauty expectations and surrounded by adults talking about dieting, calories and sizes? 
Society puts huge pressure on women and motherhood, which ultimately plays a huge role in maternal mental health. How can we change the narrative, fight the stigma?

Kids get so many mixed messages – we want them to be strong, independent and clever…but even in this day and age we are STILL guilty of gender stereotyping, of putting them in boxes by the way we talk to them, dress them…and we need to do MORE. Being a parent is hard, but if we want kids to be kind, strong and capable we need to do better.

Books are such a pleasurable thing to buy and to gift and studies show an unequal representation of gender in children's books (both in terms presence and roles), so choosing the right one is so important.
