The Feminist Hub

Do I want to make money. Yes. Actually I need to make money, just like most other normal people. I also needed to make money in my other jobs, and not all of them had the same level of positive impact in the world...
Last Friday was the first day of Baby Loss Awareness Week and I shared this story.  I didn't want to let this opportunity go without dedicating a post about why I think this is a feminist issue
It was Eric's 4th birthday on Monday. Perfect excuse to dig deeper in what these 4 years of motherhood have meant for me from a feminist (and personal) point of view.
I think it is fair to ask ourselves how we expect girls to not fall into that trap when we constantly praise them for their physical appearance. How can we expect them to believe us when we say that "what really matters is what's on the inside" when they are bombarded by unrealistic beauty expectations and surrounded by adults talking about dieting, calories and sizes?
Society puts huge pressure on women and motherhood, which ultimately plays a huge role in maternal mental health. How can we change the narrative, fight the stigma?
We are days away from International Women's Day, marches and demonstrations are now in the calendar and it is just a matter to start doing your placards and preparing your singing for the day! Here you can find our 30 favourite quotes for the day
From Feminist hates men to Feminism is a VIP club we analyse the most common myths, trues and misunderstandings around feminism because if we spent all the time invested in explaining and justifying why feminism is ok in actually proactively supporting feminist measures we will be way ahead of the game.

Feminism is about choices. It is about informed choices. It is about socially respected and supported decisions made by women.

Breastfeeding is a personal decision. It's something that a woman decides to do, or not to do, with her body. But how to nourish your baby is a decision that is not informed enough, not respected enough and not supported enough.

Kids get so many mixed messages – we want them to be strong, independent and clever…but even in this day and age we are STILL guilty of gender stereotyping, of putting them in boxes by the way we talk to them, dress them…and we need to do MORE. Being a parent is hard, but if we want kids to be kind, strong and capable we need to do better.
Here you'll find out recommendations of our favourite feminist kids books - because it is never too early to bring feminism to their lives, in the shape of female role models, or tools for critical thinking. Books are such a pleasurable thing to buy and to gift and studies show an unequal representation of gender in children's books (both in terms presence and roles), so choosing the right one is so important.
